RAYSHAPE model resins: XE, Pro, WW and Soft Pink 2.0
Share
Choose RAYSHAPE resin by the part you need to make. Model XE and Model Pro are rigid dental model materials. Model WW adds a water-washable cleaning workflow. Soft Pink 2.0 is for the flexible gingiva component of a model. These choices address different laboratory jobs, even when the bottles sit beside the same printer.
Which material fits your model?
| Material | Selection starting point | Check before ordering |
|---|---|---|
| Model XE | Rigid implant, die, orthodontic and restoration models | The technical sheet covers Apricot. Confirm the shade when a store option is labelled Standard. |
| Model Pro | Rigid working models, including models with dies | Select Orange or Grey explicitly. The available Orange technical sheet does not establish Grey specifications. |
| Model WW | Dental models where water washing suits the finishing process | Confirm the Model WW cleaning instructions and the matched printer profile. |
| Soft Pink 2.0 | Flexible gingiva masks used with dental models | Match the gingiva component to its rigid model and use its own material process. |
Model XE or Model Pro Orange?
Both cover working-model applications. The technical sheets give useful context, but their specimens were printed on different machines: Shape 1+ for Model XE and Edge E2 for Model Pro Orange. Treat the figures as material reference data rather than a head-to-head printer test.
| Typical TDS property | Model XE, Apricot | Model Pro Orange |
|---|---|---|
| Flexural strength, ASTM D790 | 74 MPa | 77 MPa |
| Hardness, ASTM D2240 | Shore D 88 | Shore D 90 |
| Viscosity at 25 C, ASTM D445 | 265 mPa.s | 150-500 mPa.s |
A small difference in a listed strength value is not enough to choose a resin. Start with the exact material profile available for your printer and the model geometry you produce. Confirm shade and bottle size before repeating an order. Dentcore lists Model Pro in Orange and Grey, with 1 kg and 2.5 kg selections; the Orange data above should not be transferred to Grey.
When Model WW makes sense
Model WW is the water-washable option in this group. Its technical sheet identifies Blue resin and reports Shore D 83 and 56 MPa flexural strength from Shape 1+ specimens. Those values do not make it a substitute for a flexible gingiva resin.
Choose it when your lab wants that cleaning workflow and has the matching processing instructions. Water-washable does not mean ready to use straight from the wash. Follow the specified drying and post-curing steps, and collect resin-contaminated wash water for disposal according to the safety data sheet and applicable requirements.
Soft Pink 2.0 is the flexible model component
Soft Pink 2.0 is intended for gingiva simulation on a dental model. Keep its selection separate from the rigid model body. A pink color does not make it a denture-base material or establish an indication for an intraoral restoration.
Its technical sheet lists Shore A hardness of 38 initially and 43.5 after post-processing, with tear strength of 3.1 and 4.4 N/mm respectively. The specimens used Edge E1. These values show why the processing state matters; they are not a curing recipe or proof of compatibility with every Edge printer.
Match the full workflow before the first bottle
The technical sheets above do not provide a complete compatibility matrix for Edge mini, E2 and Max. Confirm the exact resin, shade, printer, layer height and current material profile together. A shared brand or wavelength alone is insufficient.
Have the current instructions for cleaning, drying and the named curing unit available before printing. For equipment planning, see our Edge printer comparison and ShapeWash and ShapeCure selection guide. Bring your existing printer and curing-unit details when discussing a material change with Dentcore.
