Shining 3D MetiSmile MR Face Scanner
A contact-free 3D facial scanner that also tracks how the jaw actually moves.
The MetiSmile MR is Shining 3D's 3D Face Scanner with the added Mandibular Movement Trajectory Tracking module. It captures a full three-dimensional model of the patient's face in about ten seconds, then records the real path the lower jaw travels — opening and closing, protrusion, and lateral excursions — and aligns that motion with the facial and intraoral data. For clinicians doing full-mouth rehabilitation, complex occlusal work, TMJ-related planning, or digital smile design, the MR turns a static portrait into a functional, articulated record you can carry straight into CAD.

Contact-free ten-second face scan — an optical, non-contact device that captures 3D face data in roughly 10 seconds, keeping chair time short and the patient comfortable.

Aligns face, intraoral, and CBCT data — the FScan software aligns facial data with mouth-scanning dental data and with cone-beam CT (DICOM) data, giving you one unified digital model.

Straight into your CAD workflow — scanned data can be sent to exocad for smile design, and trajectory data can be exported in XML for third-party CAD, feeding virtual articulator parameters into functionally driven restorations.

Class 1 laser, safe by design — an infrared laser projector at 850 nm enhances feature recognition with no harmful radiation when used as directed.

FScan is a GPU-dependent application. Shining 3D recommends an Intel Core i7-8700 or higher CPU, 32 GB RAM (16 GB minimum), a 256 GB SSD or larger, an NVIDIA graphics card, Windows 10/11 Professional 64-bit, and more than two USB 3.0 (or higher) type-A ports.
