Shining 3D MetiSmile Face Scanner
A chairside 3D facial scanner that captures the whole face in about 10 seconds and aligns it with your intraoral scan for true digital smile design.
The MetiSmile is a contact-free optical face scanner developed by Shining 3D. It records the full 3D structure of the patient's face — lip line, facial midline, smile arc and the relationship of the teeth to the surrounding features — and merges that facial model with intraoral scan data so restorations can be designed in the context of the actual face rather than in isolation. It is built for dental clinics, dental laboratories and maxillofacial workflows where the appearance of the final result matters as much as the fit, and where showing a patient how a case will look drives faster case acceptance. Eye-safe infrared projection — feature recognition uses an 850 nm infrared laser rated as a Class 1 laser product, so patients aren't hit with a bright visible flash during capture.

Automatic face-to-scan alignment — the FScan software adaptively aligns facial data with intraoral data, with a heat-map view (green ideal, red positive deviation, blue negative deviation) to verify the merge and manual fine-tuning when you need it.

High-resolution colour texture — a dedicated 2448 × 2048 texture camera captures full-colour facial detail alongside the three-camera depth system.

Handheld or fixed operation — scan freehand across the face, or mount the scanner on the supplied tripod and have the patient slowly rotate their head for a steady, repeatable capture.

Open export formats — outputs open PLY, OBJ and STL meshes and can send data to CAD platforms such as exocad for smile design.

The MetiSmile is designed to be used alongside a Shining 3D Aoralscan intraoral scanner, connecting through the USB 3.0 repeater so facial and intraoral data land in a single coordinate system for smile design.
