The Aoralscan 3 Wireless is a color intraoral scanner from Shining 3D built for everyday restorative, implant, and orthodontic work. It captures a full 3D digital impression of teeth, gingiva, and oral mucosa without powder spraying, and sends open STL, OBJ, or PLY files straight to your CAD/CAM software. The difference here is the cordless handpiece: the scanner talks to its cradle over a wireless connection, so nothing tethers you to the workstation while you move around the patient or between operatories. It is intended for dental professionals, lab technicians, and trained clinicians, and it is designed to make chairside capture faster and more comfortable for both the operator and the patient.

Why the Aoralscan 3 Wireless stands out

Truly cable-free scanning — the handpiece connects to its cradle over a wireless access point, and the manufacturer specifies reliable operation up to 5 meters away from the cradle, so you are free to move without a cord in the way.
Powder-free color capture — scans one tooth, several teeth, or the full arch in natural color with no spray required, at a scanning rate of up to 20 frames per second for smooth, accurate acquisition.
Two interchangeable tips — a standard tip with a 16 × 12 mm scan field for general use and a smaller mini tip with a 12 × 9 mm field for posterior and tighter access. Tips are pluggable and the scanner automatically recognizes the type fitted.
Deep margin capture — a 22 mm scanning depth (from -2 mm to 20 mm off the tip window) reaches subgingival preparation margins that shallower scanners miss.

Autoclavable, reusable tips — each tip can be cleaned and steam-sterilized up to 100 times (4 minutes at 134°C in a dynamic-air-removal sterilizer, or 30 minutes at 121°C by gravity displacement) for straightforward infection control.
Rechargeable battery workflow — a swappable lithium-ion battery powers the wireless handpiece and recharges in the cradle or the supplied charging case, so a spare is always ready.
Open file output — exports non-proprietary STL, OBJ, and PLY files that drop directly into exocad, 3Shape, Dental Wings, and any STL-compatible design platform.
