A powder-free, full-color intraoral scanner built for everyday chairside dentistry — plug it in and scan.

The Aoralscan 3 is Shining 3D's third-generation intraoral scanner. It captures a true-color 3D image of teeth, gums and oral mucosa directly in the patient's mouth — no powder or spray required — and hands you an open digital model ready for restorations, implants and orthodontics. This is the wired version: it connects to your workstation over a USB 3.0 repeater and draws power from the wall, so there is no battery to charge or manage and performance stays consistent case after case. Compared with the previous generation it delivers roughly 30% better accuracy and 30% faster scanning, making full-arch capture quicker and more comfortable for your patients. It is intended for dental professionals, lab technicians and trained clinicians working in dental clinics and laboratories, and ships with the Standard 2 Year Warranty.

Why the Aoralscan 3 stands out

Powder-free full-color scanning — captures the color texture of teeth, gingiva and mucosa directly, with no coating powder to apply or clean up.
Fast capture, up to 20 fps — a high acquisition rate of up to 20 frames per second improves image accuracy and shortens chair time; the average single-jaw scan takes no more than three minutes.
Two interchangeable tips — a Standard tip (16 × 12 mm scan field) for general use and a Mini tip (12 × 9 mm scan field) for posterior and tighter anatomy. Tips are pluggable and the scanner recognizes which type is attached.
Anti-fog heated tip — the built-in heating element warms the lens automatically to prevent condensation, so scans stay clear from the first tooth.

What's included

Each Aoralscan 3 wired set ships in its carry box with the scanner body and a 2 m USB 3.0 cable, a dust cap for the scanner, the USB 3.0 repeater, scanner tips (4 standard tips and 1 mini tip), the iCalib-III calibrator with its dust cover and calibrator cable, a cradle, a practice model, the power adapter (12 V DC / 3 A) with power cord, the USB flash drive carrying the IntraoralScan software, plus the product certificate, disinfection guide and quick installation guide.

Applications

The Aoralscan 3 is intended for orthodontic, implant and restorative workflows — crowns, bridges, inlays and onlays, implant planning, clear-aligner and orthodontic cases, and digital smile design. Because it exports open STL, OBJ and PLY files, the scans move directly into exocad, 3Shape, Dental Wings and any STL-compatible CAD/CAM platform.

Wired vs. wireless?

The wired Aoralscan 3 delivers the same scan quality as the wireless version at a lower price point. Choose wired when your operatory keeps the workstation close to the chair and you would rather never think about batteries.
