The subscription is not live because the payment cleared. It is live when the operator, workstation, libraries, and production handoff work together on real cases.
A successful exocad subscription launch is not the day the payment starts. It is the point when a named operator can take a real case from import through approved design and verified output without improvising the process.
This 30-day plan keeps the first month focused. It assumes the bundle has already been selected and turns the subscription into an implementation schedule.

Before Day 1: remove preventable blockers
- Assign the primary operator and a backup.
- Confirm the workstation against current exocad requirements.
- Prepare the my.exocad account and the email identity that will own it.
- List required implant, tooth, articulator, and material libraries.
- Select three to five representative training cases with no urgent delivery pressure.
Week 1: install and prove the base path
Install the current supported DentalCAD release, verify the license, import known scans, and confirm that the operator can reach the expected export path. Do not begin with the most complex implant or full-arch case in the lab.
The Week 1 evidence should be simple: the software opens correctly, the expected modules are visible, accounts are connected, libraries are available, and one familiar restorative case can be completed and reviewed.
Week 2: validate the daily case types
Run the cases that represent normal production. Record where the operator loses time: scan orientation, margin review, tooth libraries, contacts, occlusion, output naming, or communication with the manufacturing step.
When AI Design is used, treat it as a proposal. The technician remains responsible for reviewing anatomy, margin, contact, occlusion, and manufacturability. A faster first proposal is valuable only when the review process is disciplined.
Week 3: connect the production environment
Test the file handoff to printers, mills, external production, or the lab's normal CAM process. Confirm naming conventions, storage location, version control, and who decides that a case is ready to manufacture.
If the bundle includes implant, bar, model, splint, or smile workflows, introduce them one category at a time. The goal is repeatability, not demonstrating every module before the month ends.
Week 4: decide what becomes standard
- Review the case log. Which workflows are stable, slow, or blocked?
- Confirm the bundle. Is the team using what it selected, or is a module gap already visible?
- Write the operating checklist. Capture the import, design review, export, backup, and escalation steps.
- Set the next training target. Choose one advanced workflow based on real case demand.
Definition of ready: a second person can follow the written process, find the correct files, and understand when to stop and ask for review.
What not to do in the first month
- Do not activate before the workstation and operator are ready.
- Do not add every library without an ownership and update plan.
- Do not run AI output directly to production without technician review.
- Do not treat an open platform as an automatically integrated production system.
- Do not wait until renewal time to decide whether the bundle fits.
