Choose by indication before strength

Start with what is being made: thin veneer, single crown, routine bridge, or longer-span restoration. Then verify the exact product's current indication and thickness limits. Published strength values are useful only inside the tested material and processing conditions.

EZneer belongs in a veneer discussion. AiZir Flash belongs in a turnaround and furnace-validation discussion. Aidite describes 3D Pro Zir Ultra as a 4Y plus 5Y multilayer system and publishes broad indications, but the lab still has to confirm the design and sintering protocol for the case.

Shade architecture changes nesting

Single-layer material gives a uniform starting shade. Multilayer material adds a built-in transition that must be positioned in CAM. A thin restoration may not contain enough vertical space to express that transition predictably.

Create nesting presets by product family rather than allowing each technician to improvise. Record the vertical position, disc thickness, connector strategy, and expected post-sintering appearance for representative restorations.

Sintering speed is a production variable

A fast program can improve delivery only when the furnace and downstream work are ready. AiZir Flash is designed around that opportunity. 3D Pro Zir Ultra also has published fast-sintering guidance with compatible equipment, but that does not make all programs or geometries equivalent.

Keep fast and conventional workflows clearly labeled. Validate color, fit, distortion, and repeatability before increasing volume. The lab should be able to identify which program produced every restoration.

Use a case-mix worksheet

Count the previous 90 days by indication, shade family, disc thickness, unit count, remake reason, and turnaround requirement. That evidence usually shows whether the lab needs one high-volume core material, a thin-veneer specialty material, a rapid option, or all three.
