Everyone shops the printer. Post-processing is what decides whether your parts come out the same twice. Wash, dry, cure, nitrogen, material instructions: figure that out before the printer ships, not after.

Post-processing is part of the purchase
The job is not done when the build platform lifts out. From there the part has to be washed, dried, cured, inspected, and stored, and every one of those steps can wreck a print that came off the machine clean. A great printer bolted to a sloppy finishing process still gives you parts you cannot trust.
This bites hardest the moment you move past study models into splints, guides, or anything restorative. The closer the part gets to the patient, the less room you have to improvise on the material instructions.
The four questions to ask
- What wash method does the material require, and how will the team keep that process consistent?
- What curing unit and wavelength are validated for the material?
- Does the workflow require heat, nitrogen, or oxygen-reduction steps?
- Who records the material lot, print job, and post-processing settings when documentation matters?
Your answers move the real price tag. The easiest printer on the floor turns into a headache if nobody mapped the finishing steps first.
Where nitrogen fits
Some dental materials cure better with oxygen reduced out of the chamber or nitrogen assisting the process, depending on the manufacturer's instructions and what the part is for. Not every shop needs nitrogen on every print. What you do need is a clear list of the materials you actually plan to run, and what each one asks for, before you start buying accessories.
In practice that often means a standard cure unit for the everyday work and a tighter, more controlled cure path for the materials that demand one. Your material list dictates that split. A generic accessory bundle does not.

So before you buy, write out what you actually intend to print: models, splints, guides, dentures, temporaries, permanents, whatever specialty work you have in mind. Then pin each one to a validated printer and a validated finishing path. The gaps show up fast.
