Shining Dent dental resins: the complete material guide

Shining 3D makes its own dental resins under the Shining Dent brand. There are 11 formulations, each designed for a specific clinical application. They come with pre-programmed print profiles in AccuWare, which means if you're printing on an AccuFab, the parameters are already dialed in.
Here's what each resin does, what it costs, and how long it takes to post-cure.
Restorative
CB11: temporary crowns, bridges, and denture teeth
CB11 is the temporary crown and bridge resin. It comes in seven shades (A1, A2, A3, A3.5, B1, B2, B3), which covers most shade-matching needs for provisionals. 500g bottle. FDA Class II 510(k) exempt.
Yield on the AccuFab-F1: 415 to 625 single crown units per bottle, depending on unit size. Print time: about 13 minutes for crowns, 16 minutes for denture teeth sets. Post-cure: 10 minutes at 60C in FabCure 2.
At $160 per bottle, your per-unit resin cost is roughly $0.26 to $0.39. That's material cost only, before labor and post-processing consumables.

Surgical and diagnostic
SG01: surgical guides
SG01 is the surgical guide resin. Transparent, biocompatible for short-term intraoral use. 1000g bottle, $160. Yields about 40-43 guides on the F1, with a 20-minute print time per batch. Post-cure: 5 minutes in FabCure 2 (the shortest cure time in the lineup).
TR01: custom impression trays
TR01 is white, rigid, and designed for custom impression trays and bleaching trays. 1000g bottle, $145. Yields 35-38 trays on the F1. Biocompatible for short-term contact.
DT01-OR: try-in resin
DT01-OR is the try-in resin for denture and restoration try-ins. 1000g bottle, $419. It's the most expensive resin in the lineup, but it's a specialty material for clinical verification before final fabrication.
Orthodontic
OD02: orthodontic model resin
OD02 is designed for aligner thermoforming models. 1000g bottle, $120. Yields 30-32 models on the F1, 16-minute print time. If you're producing clear aligners in-house, this is the model resin you'd use for thermoforming.
Splint
SS01: soft occlusal splint
SS01 is the soft splint resin. Transparent, flexible, biocompatible. 1000g bottle, $329. Yields 55-66 splints on the F1, 52-minute print time. Post-cure: 7 minutes. No TPO, MMA, or THF-MA in the formulation.
Use fresh alcohol when washing transparent materials like SS01 in the FabWash. Reused solvent can cloud the surface.
Model
DM03 and DM12: model resins
DM03 (gray) and DM12 (yellow) are the same formulation in two colors. 1000g bottles, $120 each. These are your everyday workhorses for implant models, crown and bridge models, and general diagnostic models. Yields about 30-32 model sets on the F1, 26-minute print time. Post-cure: 7 minutes.
Gray is easier to photograph. Yellow has better visual contrast when trimming dies. Pick based on your preference.

Compatibility
All Shining Dent resins work with the full AccuFab lineup (CEL, F1, L4D, L4K). AccuWare has pre-loaded print profiles for each material, so you select the resin and the software sets exposure time, layer thickness, and lift speed automatically.
The resins also work with third-party printers that support open material systems, though you'll need to calibrate the parameters yourself. Shining 3D publishes technical data sheets for each resin with the recommended exposure settings.
What's not in our catalog (yet)
Shining 3D also makes CB12 (semi-permanent crowns), DT02 (denture base, FDA Class II), CX100 (provisional All-on-X), SH01 (hard splint), IBD (indirect bonding tray), and GM12 (gingiva mask). We don't currently carry these. If there's demand, we can add them. Call and ask.
