Medit Beta v2.1.0 Review

Beta v2.1.0 Review Credits to Medit This software’s future looks so bright with all these updates and new features. Medit’s developers work hard to provide and respond to the wants of the current users, making this one of the most improved software that comes with an intraoral scanner. Let’s go over the major features of this Beta that I thought was worth highlighting. The Dashboard Initial reaction for the Dashboard, it is statistics galore. I personally love the “Total Statistics” section where it shows the total amount of time is shown for that specific scanner, the number of orders that are completed or cancelled. If you had set up the Payment System, you can see the total amount for the cases you sent to the labs. Printing the Order Form Printing the order form for clinic records is now available! This was another feature that was very [...]

IMPORTANT: Medit Cleaning & Sterilizing Instructions

Hello! Properly sterilizing your intra oral scanner is an important step in preventing clinical contamination. After treatment, clean and disinfect all other surfaces of the handpiece except for the front of the scanner (optical window) as well as the end (air vent hole). Make sure the device is switched off before cleaning and disinfecting. Use the device only after it is completely dry. Recommended disinfection solution: - Denatured alcohol (eg. ethyl alcohol or ethanol) – typically 60-70% Alc/Vol. The general cleaning and disinfecting procedure are as follows: - Switch off the device using the power button. - Unplug all cables from the power hub. - Attach the handpiece cover to the front of the scanner. - Apply the disinfection solution to a soft lint-free, non-abrasive cloth. - Wipe the scanner surface with a cloth which has been dampened with disinfectant. - Remove liquid with a clean, lint-free, dry, non-abrasive [...]

EnvisionTEC E-Dent400 PMMA Material: All Shades Now FDA Approved

EnvisionTEC’s E-Dent 400 printing material for the Perfactory family of 3D printers is a biocompatible Class IIa and FDA-approved solution for the accurate 3D printing of crowns and bridges for long-term temporary use. E-Dent 400 can also be used for the 3D printing of very tough veneers that are extremely accurate and have a very fine surface finish. Full crowns or multi-unit bridges can be printed and the printed designs can also be cut back to allow for color layering and shading. Availability of 3D printable PMMA material for the dental clinical use is a giant step for dental CAD/CAM applications. Temporization is an intrinsic part of dentistry, as dental prosthetics must be personalized for each patient and final restorations takes days or weeks to fabricate. 3D printing technology bypasses all manufacturing hardships that milling technology has endured; there are no undercut limitations, minimum manufacturing space, noise, and [...]

3D Printed Diagnostic Wax-Up Material: E-Rigid PU

E-Guide Rigid PU is strong, flexible material with smooth finish. Originally designed for industrial prototyping applications, DentCore tested it for dental diagnostic wax-up application with resounding success. Due to the high accuracy of the EnvisionTEC build styles, fitting and margin quality is excellent. The greatest advantage of the E-Rigid PU over milling wax discs is the reduced amount of finishing time. The nature of DLP 3D printing technology prevents all undercuts from forming, which creates accurate finish on the lingual surface. Embrasures are smoothly formed, as opposed to milling, where the burs would often leave irregularities. Sprues are much smaller and easier to remove. Finally, the surface finish is smooth and doesn’t need additional handling. CAD/CAM has so much potential as technology continuously evolves. You never know where you may find new applications! https://envisiontec.com/3d-printing-materials/micro-materials/e-rigid-pu/
